Hanging in....

Last week was a shocker in terms of exercise, spent half the week in Adel and the latter in Sydney, where I still am. Been struggling with a cold and just feeling very lethargic and run down. Work training in Sydney has been good but very full on, but all of us have found it very mentally & physically draining as it's been a long time since any of us spent a couple of weeks in a classroom environment.

Managed a 10k run on Sunday & 5k on Tuesday but no other exercise so need to get some energy again and get back into it. Pumping in the vitamins and echinacea to keep the cold at bay which has held it off and stopped it hitting me full on but it is still slowing me down.

Hoping to get to the gym again tonight and out for a run in the morning but it's certainly a bit of a struggle at the moment

I remember this place.....

Long time no blog! I started a new job a couple of weeks ago and have not had a chance to keep this baby up to date. Still running and got a couple of bike rides in too. Been managing to keep to my running schedule of 3 runs per week and still generally working on a speed session on Tuesday of 5-7k, 7-10k on Thursday with some mates, and then a longer run on Sundays with a few others in my running group that is usually at least 12k.
So since my last post I have averaged 27k's per week, not huge mileage but keeps the legs ticking over. Also been getting in some other workouts too, particularily in the gym at my hotel.
Staying in Sydney at the moment and have a gym in the hotel which I have been to twice in the last 3 days. First workout was 50 mins with 20 mins on the bike and then 30 mins of weights and felt really good. I had to be conscious though of not pushing it too hard on the weights, done that too many times b4 and felt worse for it over the following days and consequently delayed my return to the gym which is not the intent.
2nd workout yesterday was all cardio, did 5k on the treadmill which was quite strange given I usually run on the road. Can't say I really enjoyed it much but it was 37*c outside so was the sensible option. Did another 20 on the bike and felt really good and due to heat was drenched in sweat and must have burned a few fat molecules for sure.
Planning on heading off today for a solid run around Sydney and depending on distance I could then hit the weights again for 30 mins or so. Will be doing a fair bit of travel over the next 3 months so blogging will probably a bit sporadic but I am determined to keep up the fitness program. Getting out on the bike will be hard but I will keep the running going and make sure I can do some other stuff too such as weights etc.
